Pensions
Any person who has accumulated the required minimum 25-year period of insurance and has reached the retirement age, or has accumulated a 15-year period of insurance and has reached the age of 65 is entitled to a retirement pension.

Early retirement pension
An insured person is eligible for an early retirement pension if he/she has accumulated 25 years of insurance and receives a partial disability pension. All other insured persons are eligible for an early retirement pension if they have accumulated 25 years of insurance and are no more than three years away from retirement age.

Widow’s /widower’s pension
You may claim a widow’s /widower’s pension if you meet certain conditions. The pension is payable for one year after the death of your spouse or for an unlimited period of time if you are over 55.

Orphan’s pension
Dependent children are entitled to an orphan’s pension after the death of a parent, adoptive parent or guardian.

Disability pension
An insured person becomes entitled to a full or partial disability person if he/she has become fully/partially disabled as a result of a work injury or has become fully/partially disabled and has accumulated the required period of insurance.

There is no specific insurance at national level against work accidents and occupational diseases in the Czech Republic. This risk is covered by the sickness insurance and pension system in the form of disability and survivor’s pensions. However, specific products of this type are offered by commercial insurance companies.
